Sommerset Palace. Slightly messy with my luggage lying all over
Dunno about other places but this place is indeed one of the best accomodations that I have stayed so far. Daily breakfast, 10Mb internet, daily housekeeping, cooking kitchen, tv, next to MRT, gym, jacuzzi.... I feel very much like those 'ang moh' ex-pat in my company. It's a bit too good to be true for me. I especially love the floor heating. These clever, clever Koreans, lay their hot water pipe under the floor, so the heating comes from the floor. Room is nice and toasty especially when tempreture hit below zero the past few days. However when tempreture go above 0, it kinda feel like living in an oven, so off goes the heater. Nowadays I don't use the heater anymore. Room feels cooling - just nice when you are under covers rolling on the bed.
Last time when I was in Malaysia for another project, they gave me the junior suite. Wah sai, it was so big with 2 queen size bed and all, I can't sleep for the entire duration I was there. Not to hold a torch light and shine on my envious life, but it is torture to the end. After that subsequent trip I stayed at home. Yeah yeah, friends hem and haw on how I am not making use of my previelage bla bla... but what's the point of all those when you are not happy rite?
Aiyak, digress again. Anyway this new apartment is just the right size for me. I sleep like a pig. In fact I am sleepy all the time. Dunno is it the air here is thinner or what..but I do feel I can fall asleep easier. I crashed into bed about early every night. Friends and family don't see me online nowadays. I almost slept the whole saturday away, I guess if not for hunger, I could have slept all the way to Sunday.
The only downside I can think off is the apt is too quiet. Maklum, I never stayed alone all my life and suddenly I am alone for 6 months and possibly a year. From toddler up, I have been sharing room with people and suddenly I have a whole apartment to myself. It's just too quiet until I have to on the TV just for the noise. The other thing I don't quite like is the stairs I have to climb everyday up and down. People here don't understand concept of escalator. Nope, it's old fashioned stairs, up down up down. I think I only manage to take one escalator at the big interchange station Eujilro(3)-ga and that escalator is going down one, gr.... On any other day I would think this is good opportunity to exercise and build some body heat but I am just recovering from my KK trip. Every step down reminds me of why I should have trained before my KK trip. Walked like an old lady, while my 50 year old colleague just sprint down the stairs and gave me that look. Dunno when I am going to get better... sigh~
